# LevelBlue USM Anywhere Sensors

USM Anywhere Sensors give you the visibility into all of your on-premise and cloud environments, including the assets in your hybrid environments.

### Start investigating alarms in three steps

<Steps>

    Deploy the USM Anywhere Sensor virtual machine in your selected environment.

    Complete the Sensor setup and analyze the initial event data.

### Frequently Asked Questions

    A sensor sends collected data over an encrypted connection to USM Anywhere where it is aggregated, analyzed, correlated, and archived.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why do I need an activation code?">
    The activation code connects USM Anywhere to your account.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What if I have more than one environment?">
    Refer to your sensor's **Deployment Guide** link to deploy your first sensor. After your first sensor is deployed, you can set up additional sensors within USM Anywhere by going to **Settings** and navigating to the **Sensors** section.

  <Accordion title="How long will it take for me to see my first alarm?">
    It may vary depending on your environment and how much data you are sending to USM Anywhere. Typically though, our users see their first alarm within one day.
