# Managing Your Profile Settings

You can manage your own user account, which enables you to do the following:

* Change your full name and password
* Enable [multi-factor authentication](/documentation/usm-central/user-management/multi-factor-authentication) (MFA) for the account
* Configure an interval for auto-refreshing the alarms pages

**To manage your profile settings**

1. At the bottom of the expanded pane of the USM Central web user interface (UI), hover over the profile settings options, and select **Profile**.

2. Modify the data of the items that can be modified.

     <Accordion title="Change Your Full Name, and Password">
       USM Anywhere helps you meet the Payment Card Industry (PCI) standard by enforcing password complexity, password expiration, and forbidding password reuse. See the [USM Anywhere Password Policy](/usm-anywhere/deployment-guide/admin/usm-anywhere-data-security#Password) for details.

       **To set a new password**

       1. Open the Profile Settings page.
       2. You have two options to choose from based on your role:

          * **General user**: At the bottom of the expanded pane of the USM Central web user interface (UI), hover over the profile settings options, and select Profile.
          * **Manager**: Go to **Settings > Users** and click the <img src="https://mintcdn.com/levelblue-5324744e/ZS7tUvuIZXE1ELcm/images/usm-central/pencil-new.svg?fit=max&auto=format&n=ZS7tUvuIZXE1ELcm&q=85&s=ef34511f95396df10c672cb09965a4d6" className="inline m-0" width="24" height="24" data-path="images/usm-central/pencil-new.svg" /> icon of your user.

          Both actions open the profile page.
       3. Click **Update Password** to display the password fields.

              <Note>
                The date of the last update displays in front of the Update Password button.
              </Note>
       4. Enter your current password and the new password.
       5. Click **Save**.

     <Accordion title="Enable MFA">
       If you want to protect your account, enable MFA for your user account. When this feature is activated, USM Central displays the multifactor authentication page for you to complete your MFA configuration. The displayed page provides a unique QR code that is used by the Authenticator app to retrieve a verification code. See [Using Multifactor Authentication](/usm-anywhere/user-guide/introduction/multifactor-authentication) for more information about this security configuration.

       <Note>
         LevelBlue recommends that users enable MFA for their account. MFA adds extra security because it requires multiple factors to <Tooltip tip="Process used to verify the identity of a user, user device, or other entity, usually through a username and password.">authenticate</Tooltip> a user, making it more difficult for an unauthorized person to gain access to the account.
       </Note>

       **To enable MFA**

       1. Open the Profile Settings page.
       2. You have two options to choose from based on whether your role is as the general user or as the manager:

          * **General user**: At the bottom of the expanded pane of the USM Central web user interface (UI), hover over the profile settings options, and selec**t Profile**.
          * **Manager**: Go to **Settings > Users** and click the <img src="https://mintcdn.com/levelblue-5324744e/ZS7tUvuIZXE1ELcm/images/usm-central/pencil-new.svg?fit=max&auto=format&n=ZS7tUvuIZXE1ELcm&q=85&s=ef34511f95396df10c672cb09965a4d6" className="inline m-0" width="24" height="24" data-path="images/usm-central/pencil-new.svg" /> icon of your user.

          Both actions open the Profile Settings page.
       3. Select **Enable Multi-Factor Authentication**.
       4. Download the [Google Authenticator app](https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/1066447?hl=en) on your mobile device and scan the QR code.
       5. Enter the verification code.
       6. Click **Save**.

     <Accordion title="Select the Time for Auto-Refreshing the Alarms Page">
       If you want to configure the time that the alarms page refreshes its information, you can set an interval. These are the options:

       * **Is Disabled**: The page works as usual and displays the <img src="https://mintcdn.com/levelblue-5324744e/ZS7tUvuIZXE1ELcm/images/usm-central/refresh.svg?fit=max&auto=format&n=ZS7tUvuIZXE1ELcm&q=85&s=13838f6feecef362bd23c99da5e93523" className="inline m-0" width="20" height="20" data-path="images/usm-central/refresh.svg" /> icon for manually updating the page.
       * **Every 15 min**: The page is reloaded every 15 minutes.
       * **Every 30 min**: The page is reloaded every 30 minutes.
       * **Every hour**: The page is reloaded every hour.
       * **Every 2 hours**: The page is reloaded every 2 hours.

**To log out of the system**

1. At the bottom of the expanded pane of the USM Central web user interface (UI), hover over the profile settings options.
2. Select **Logout**.
